Intimate Ceremony Followed By A Barn Reception | Sanders, Idaho
Knute and Katherine’s wedding day was intentional, joy filled, and family centric. Photographing it was definitely a highlight of my summer because (in case you missed their engagement photo post) Katherine is my younger sister, and Knute is Bryan’s younger brother. They started their perfectly sunny wedding day off with a sunrise first look and photos together, which was followed by Katherine doing a first look with our dad and 6 brothers. There were so many happy tears shed between those two first looks! After the first looks were finished, it was still early morning and both families headed to the very back of our family’s 120 acre property for Knute and Katherine’s private ceremony; It was held in a clearing among the trees with a pond as their backdrop. It was such an intimate and heartfelt ceremony, and listening to them say the vows they had written to each other brought many tears.
As we reached midday, extended family and friends began to arrive and gather for the reception held in one of the barns on the property. If I could describe their reception in one word it would be “energetic”; their reception was filled with lots of dancing and good food!
Photographing my little sister’s wedding day against the same backdrop of so many childhood memories will definitely be a core memory for the rest of my life. As always, it’s very difficult to choose which photos to include into a post, but here are some of my favorites.
