Thinking of eloping in the panhandle of Idaho? Read this post to get a photographer’s perspective on 3 locations you should consider!

Idaho may be called the gem state because it is home to a plethora of precious and semi precious stones, but I like to think it’s because Idaho itself is a bit of a hidden gem and not many people know about all the amazing scenery it has to offer.

If you are hoping to elope in North Idaho but aren’t sure yet where to do it, read on for my list of 3 beautiful locations to elope at!

Coeur d’Alene National Forest

The Coeur d’Alene National Forest spans from the city of Coeur d’ Alene all the way to Montana. This 700,000 + acre National Forest has so many beautiful spots for an elopement. Waterfalls, river fronts, mountaintop views and cedar + fern filled forests gives it a lot of diversity to choose from depending on how long of a drive and/or hike you are up for.

Hobo Cedar Grove

The Hobo Cedar Grove is a 240 acre forest with old growth Western Red Cedars, some of which are estimated to be 500 years old! This lush, cool forest is like stepping into another world. It’s quite the drive from any larger town in North Idaho but the scenery is well worth it and the 1 mile loop trail is easily walkable by both adults and children.

Farragut State Park

Located at the south end of Lake Pend Orielle, Idaho’s largest lake, Farragut State Park has some beautiful diversity in scenery and terrain. The park has meadows, forest paths, lakeside access, and views of stunning mountains and cliffs. Easily accessible all year long Farragut is an equally great choice for a winter or early spring elopement as it would be a summer or fall one.

Maria is a Coeur d’Alene, Idaho based wedding and elopement photographer.   Her passion lies in authentically capturing couples through vibrant + emotion filled images while also showcasing the beauty of nature.  Her style is passionate, fun and adventurous and she believes capturing moments is waaaay better then perfect poses.  When she isn’t serving her amazing couples you’ll find her exploring Idaho with her husband Bryan, teaching karate, eating ice cream or hanging out with family & friends.
