Lush + Passionate Forest Anniversary Session | Coeur d’Alene National Forest

Amy and Daniel exude tender love and care for one another and their love story is a beautiful example of God bringing two people together in His perfect timing. They were friends for several years and during that season of friendship they weathered a lot together. But love overcame and God brought them together into a romantic relationship almost 4 years after meeting. They dated for 13 months before getting engaged in Hawaii and were married 9 months later. I love that these two have emphasized building a marriage beyond the wedding day. They are intentional and continue to pursue each other, beyond what many people consider “the honeymoon phase”.

They celebrated their 3rd anniversary on September 9th. A fun tradition they started with their 1st anniversary is to get photos taken in their wedding attire every year. I had the pleasure of photographing them this time and we had such a fun afternoon in the Coeur d’Alene National Forest taking these pictures. The morning of their session, smoke started to roll in from the many forest fires in Idaho and neighboring states which created a hazy, fog like effect for some of the images. (A natural smoke bomb.) Thankfully it wasn’t yet at hazardous levels for breathing which is how it was for 6 days afterwards.

Amy really wanted a lush forest setting for their session and these spots ended up being perfect! I absolutely love the cedar + fern filled forests which can be found throughout the Panhandle of North Idaho. The bouquet was crafted by Tanya Solmonson of Coeur d’Alene and I can’t recommend her work enough! She creates stunning arrangements with items from her garden + locally foraged vegetation.
