Mountaintop Engagement Session | Coeur d’Alene National Forest

All of the couples I have the honor of photographing hold a special place in my heart. But this couple does especially. Katherine is my younger sister and Knute is Bryan’s younger brother and they are getting married this summer, 3 years (almost to the day) after Bryan and I got married! I’m so thrilled for both of them and to say I’m looking forward to a lifetime of fun double dates would be an understatement!

On the evening we took these engagement pictures we almost postponed it because late in the afternoon a sudden lightening + thunderstorm blew in. But my weather app said it would be gone in a couple hours so we decide to go ahead and drive up the mountain in good faith that it would blow over by the time we reached our destination. Sure enough the sky cleared by the time we were ready to shoot and even though it was still pretty cold in the aftermath of the wind and rain just a few hours earlier, Knute and Katherine were champs and we had a fun time getting some engagement pictures for them!
