Summer Farm Wedding | Potlatch, Idaho

I think that there is something really special about finding the person you want to spend forever with at an early age and if you’re ready, committing yourself to that person. It’s not the route God takes everyone down, but I love hearing the story of people where that is their path. Micheal and Ashlee have one of those stories. Their families met at church when they were both in their early teens and Ashlee and her sisters became friends with Micheal’s sisters. Even though Ashlee knew who Micheal was she never actually noticed him, (which she later couldn’t believe!) but he certainly noticed her! Micheal waited a few years after knowing he was interested in Ashlee before receiving permission from her parents to ask her if she would like to start a relationship together. Ashlee agreed to getting to know Micheal and it didn’t take long for the attraction to be mutual as they found out quickly that they clicked really well and had a lot in common! They realized quickly that they wanted to spend their lives together and they got married under a year of beginning their relationship!

Their wedding day was a family and friend filled celebration. They are both firstborns and the first children in their families to get married; Micheal was also the first grandson on both sides of his family to get married as well. Their day was so sweet and pure, filled with a lot of emotions and many tears of joy. They got married on Ashlee’s family’s property and held their reception in a metal hanger. One of my favorite moments from their day was at the start of their ceremony when they had all four of their parents come pray over them. What a powerful way to start your marriage! My second favorite part of their day was probably the parody of “Love story” that Ashlee’s sisters wrote and sang for them at their reception which was a perfect mixture of fun and heartfelt.

I could probably share 50 more details from their day that I loved but I think I’m going to let the pictures tell the story of their day to you.
